[영어 회화/라이브 아카데미] You know how

You know how: 우리가 함께 겪는 일에 대해서 상대방에게 상기시켜 주면서 동시에 그거에 대해서 할 말이 있다는 신호를 보낼 때 사용.

 

A: You know how you often(sometimes) keep your bluetooth off to save (your) battery(?).

너 배터리 아끼려고 가끔 블루투스를 꺼놓잖아.

B: Yeah.

응.

A: Well, I heard that makes almost no difference.

그거, 거의 아무런 차이가 없대.

B: Really?

정말?

A: Yeah. Apparently.

응. 그렇다던데.

 

A: Hey, you know how we sometimes spend weeks looking for a good deal on a product we're looking to buy.

물건 사려고 알아볼 때 좋은 가격에 사려고 몇 주 동안 물색할 때도 있고 그렇잖아.

B: Yeah.

응.

A: Well, they say that when you take into account the fact that time is money, you actually end up spending more.

시간도 돈이라는 사실까지 함께 고려하면 결국은 더 많은 돈을 쓰게 되는 경우가 많대.

 

A: Hey, you know how we buy vegetables and fruit and always end up throwing away most of it.

우리 야채랑 과일을 사고 항상 거의 다 버리게 되잖아.

B: Yeah.

응.

A: Well, I was thinking - How about we grow our own vegetables and fruit?

내가 생각을 해봤는데. 우리가 먹을 야채랑 과일을 직접 키우는건 어때?

B: Uhh, OK. You be in charge of that and I'll do the cooking.

어... 그래. 그걸 그럼 너가 담당하고 요리는 내가 할게.

 

A: You know how our Internet has been acting up more often lately.

우리 인터넷이 최근에 더 자주 문제를 일으키고 있잖아. 

B: Yeah.

응.

A: Well, I spoke to our provider about that this morning and they said (that) we need to have our router replaced.

오늘 아침에 인터넷 업체랑 얘기를 해봤는데 라우터기를 교체해야 한대.

*act up: 어떤 기계나 그 기능이 문제를 일으키는 것.
